Editorial policy

We write every description and guide on this site ourselves, from the specification we publish for the part. The name on a card is ours. A hundred-character title serves a search box, not a person choosing a fastener.

The star ratings are the ones our customers left, counted once per family of sizes and finishes rather than once per product code, so a clamp sold in four sizes is not counted four times. A part nobody has rated yet shows no stars rather than a borrowed number.

Where a guide states a rule, it quotes the rule word for word and links to the document, with the date we read it. Where a fact belongs to the specification, it comes from the specification. Where we do not know, we write that we do not know.

We update prices on a schedule and print the date of the last update on one page rather than repeating it on every card.
